Pauline von HellermannThis plays out with a lot of regional variation. #NigerianTwitter, for example, is huge - not just because many people in #Nigeria adore Musk (they do - huge Musk fanclub there, sadly) but also because it plays a key for connection and political mobilisation, eg the #ObiDient movement. Plus many great conversations etc. i miss it all a lot #NigerianFediverse still tiny

I had several discussions about people paying money to a fash for blue; most of the folks i talked with (somewhat leftwing liberals) were like 'so what, it's their choice, i don't have a prob with it'. No one (!) tried to argue against me calling Musk a fash but still they defended the folks paying money to him. Probably because some of their friends had a blue check, too...
