For those that have 4K monitors:

Have you felt that 4K is worth the money for the difference in picture quality/resolution?

@sblaydes for me, on a desktop pc, yes. Working with larger text that is crisper and easier to read, or squishing lots of 2D graphs, charts, spreadsheet cells on a single pane makes 4K resolution worthwhile to me.

I tried a 5K monitor, but the small pixel size was not any more useful, and it used 2 Display port connectors, so didn't work with some drivers. Those would scale to 4K on one DP cable, but the monitor looked terrible since it scaled the resolution to 5k.

I also used a 2560x1440 monitor, which was a nice balance of size and pixel count.

On a notebook pc, not sure if 4k is worthwhile for me because the screen is too small for me to read tiny text comfortably.

@sblaydes it’s way less straining on my eyes on a 27” display. Think in terms of DPI, for smaller displays it might not make a difference. But try before you buy.
@sblaydes Hell yes. Make sure your OS can use HiDPI or some other form of UI element scaling, though. I use a 27” 4K UHD monitor on a Mac mini with an eGPU.
@sblaydes
Worth every penny. 4k monitors are easy on the eye. In fact, i have a laptop with 4k screen. I cannot watch any less resolution. If i buy a next phone, it will be a sony 4k phone. Highly recommended.
I think it's worth the money for the text: crispy clear fonts.
