Years ago, I started a 'bands I've seen live' list to try and remember shows I'd been to and what years they were. But it got lost. So I started a new one the other day on a spreadsheet and I named it the accurate title 'bands I've seen live (even the ones I hated)'. I'm not gonna share it here quite yet (has anyone else done one of these?) aaaand it's also not quite done. Memory's hazy! I'm up to 101 bands. Wild. Some of the bands I saw multiple times. Still need to work out some of the years/venues (to see how much remembering that sucks, and to see if I want to document all of that).

Anyway, it's been a fun and interesting project so far. Time is so strange. Sometimes things seem more or less recent than they actually were.

@jake4480 can't remember them all. For instance, have I seen Aerosmith? I might have, but who knows? I have seen KISS, AC/DC, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Poison...but what about Guns n Roses? Dunno.
@KeriC9 😂 I'm like that too because so many of mine were Warped or Ozzfests and I went to multiple of each - hot ass days, maybe buzzed haha. I did see Aerosmith, not the others you listed though!
@jake4480 definately saw Ozzy. He pointed at me and knodded at the Ultimate Sin tour.
@KeriC9 badass!! Yeah the Ozzfest I saw him at had Sabbath too. Wild

@jake4480 A combination of most of the bands I like not existing any more, not having any friends and not liking standing up for too long means I've only ever been to see one band (Nadja).

I've also had tinnitus since I was about 15 (23 years now) due to Otosclerosis, so I don't want to risk making it any worse.

@Vyothric ah, I definitely have that issue with bands I love not existing, and I learned my lesson in 1995, first festival, Lollapalooza, I was 15 and my ears rang for DAYS afterwards. After that, I swore to always wear earplugs because I was pretty freaked out. Wore em when I played in bands too. You're right about STANDING too - ugh. Now, it's kind of a bitch. 4 bands at that Cannibal show. TOO LONG to stand. And festivals. Sheesh. No more of those for me, that was for my 20s haha. So do your ears ring all the time or just often?
@jake4480 Every second of the past 23 or so years.
@Vyothric oh wow. Do you get used to it? Or no. Still blows my mind, things like Brian Wilson is deaf in one ear.
@jake4480 Sometimes. You need to have something else to focus on - that's why I like gaming so much. I used to be close to deaf in my left ear too but fortunately with Otosclerosis a stapedectomy operation can restore hearing. Had both ears done 9 and 10 years ago. I have decent but not quite perfect hearing now.
@Vyothric ohh wow okay that makes sense. Games to take your mind off it! Brilliant.
@Vyothric @jake4480 got tinnitus (and a one-time scary vertigo experience) about a decade ago from taking an airplane trip while my sinuses were swollen from allergies. Fortunately I can tune it out by becoming engrossed in things (work, gaming, TV, etc.) but it's always there.
@Vyothric the cool part of course is you can still hear music so well, well enough to figure out and play those guitar parts haha
@jake4480 I did this a couple of years ago. I found out there is a website where you can look up and add shows and setlists, called setlist.fm. Even very obscure stuff is in there or can be added.
@niels oh thanks for reminding me - that's a good site and you're right - it will probably be key to trying to remember!
