My favorite podcast app just announced it will be shutting down. What is your favorite?
I need one that works on PC and Android, at least.

If you were following my podcast app saga, by far the best one I found for my needs is Podurama! Cross-platform and sync between Android, iOS and browser, a good interface, a generous free tier and the option of a lifetime premium, instead of paying a membership for who knows how long.

@gamesbymanuel I use Pocket Casts. Works well enough. Not sure if there's a browser interface.
@erbridge I heard good things about it when I last checked, but it seems to be mobile only. I'd use it more at the computer than out, so it's a dealbreaker.
@gamesbymanuel
An opportunity to install a free open source app, I totally recommend #antennapod https://antennapod.org/

AntennaPod
@panigrc @erbridge Interesting! I'll check it out.
@gamesbymanuel PocketCasts or Player.fm are 2 good options.
@LonelyBob Both seem to be mobile only, and I'm looking for something I can use on the PC. I'll clarify the original post!
@gamesbymanuel PocketCasts web app: https://support.pocketcasts.com/article/desktop-app/ and Player.fm: https://player.fm are the websites available for either
Web and Desktop apps

@LonelyBob Excellent! I'll check them out.

@gamesbymanuel
I recommend Antennapod!
It's an amazing app, has all the features one can ask for, is always up to date and is open source, so it basically can't shut down.

And they're on the fediverse:
@AntennaPod

@marlowe @AntennaPod Thank you, I'll check it out! I hope there's a way to use it on PC though, it's a dealbreaker for me.

@gamesbymanuel

Sadly it can't do that, in theory you can sync it with other programs, but Antennapod itself is only available on android

@marlowe Nooooo
@gamesbymanuel @marlowe on the desktop you can look into gPodder (https://gpodder.github.io) or Kasts (https://apps.kde.org/kasts/). AntennaPod and these apps support the same synchronisation mechanism (though we're working on improvements there).
gPodder: Media aggregator and podcast client

@gamesbymanuel I like Pocket Casts a lot, but it's only free on Android, on browser you have to pay for it.
@Varzim05
I use it the most on PC, and I really didn't want to pay for yet another subscription.
