@nixCraft I really appreciate this list. I know macOS gets a lot of flak, but I do enjoy its Unixy parts as well. I started with it back in the Intel transition and it helped me survive some of the CS courses I had with Clang being close enough to GCC on the Ubuntu server I had to compile on.

@nixCraft a very useful option to open is -n which will open the same thing more than once. For instance if you have VLC open with one video but you want to not interrupt it and want to first watch something else you can use that option and all will work.
