Moving to Lisbon: Week 4 - snipe.pt

Hello friends. I've been meaning to write this for a week or so, but life gets in the way sometimes. I'd like to start by saying it's much better now. Not perfect at all, but no major meltdowns and the stress level is starting to become pretty manageable, which is all I could hope for

@snipe Sounds like things are starting to get a little better!
@KingShawn They are, yeah. Good days and bad, but overall better
@snipe “Overall better” is key. Helps get you past the annoying “little” things (that I know can seem like BIG THINGS in the moment). Glad to see the pets are mostly adjusting as well. 🤗
@snipe I always read these and end-up thinking “Man, you guys are brave!”

@snipe Ohh, I had a similar journey moving to Belgium and ended up making a chart about it. looks like you're about at the middle here. The great news is that, at least for us, we love Europe and can't imagine living in the US again. Ultimately, it gets better -- much better and normalizes.

Great idea to blog about this. I did it all on fb and now wish I'da blogged about it too.

@snipe Ha, we totally sleep in the living room too. The heat nowadays, hooh!

I also experienced that exhaustion you're talking about and I actually still do when I travel to countries that are very unfamiliar like Spain, Portugal and Italy. I think it's because we're taking in SOOOO much that's new. Great break from depression tho! Always in the moment.

I no longer experience that exhaustion in the Netherlands, Belgium, France or Germany, which is cool.

@cl this gives me so much hope ❤️❤️
@cl this is amazing - TYSM
@snipe @cl I love this! My current mode is "OMG planning for move to Spain" 😀, followed by "OMG so much pointless bureaucracy" 😭 <repeat>
