Looks like google is attacking invidious now. just taking another moment to say fuck google and all their products.
The only good things that google offers aren't even good until somebody comes around and "degoogles them" and invidious is exactly that.
Odysee has some glaring issues both with people and implementation but its becoming more and more an attractive option for me if google is going to knock down invidious and other related services
its full of some toxic people and theres alot of political BS, but some (normal) youtubers mirror their accounts to Odysee

I guess there's no telling what will happen. youtube-dl is still going strong, but this is such a different situation.
I've seen Odysee. I wish it well, but I found peertube less glitchy, and it's on the Fediverse, which allows following people from here. (there's an instance here at peertube.linuxrocks.online).
