Ditched Twitter as soon as Elon took over. Mastodon has been a decent replacement. I wish had more news and devs in my feed, but maybe that will come with time.

Thinking about ditching Reddit now. That one has been hard to drop. It'll probably get a lot easier in a week once RIF stops working on my phone.

What to do instead? For now I'm picking up reading again. It has been way too long since I read books for fun.

@Rawwwb I never got into Twitter but as soon as Apollo announced it was shutting down I deleted both of my 10+ year old accounts on Reddit and have been using Mastodon as a replacement. It’s scratched the itch a bit but it’s just not the same which as it turns out is a good thing in my case. I can’t believe how many hours I spent doomscrolling and now I do a bunch of other stuff instead. Reading, learning guitar and web dev.
@gristle That's good! Now that I'm thinking about it more I notice how much time I could reclaim. Maybe it'll be good for me.

@Rawwwb @gristle I switched from reddit to kbin, but also reclaimed an obscene amount of time.

The webapp is passable, and quality content isn't terribly lacking. Seems to get better every day, too.

@dismalnow @Rawwwb nice! I’ll give this a look tonight.
