A Pinky & Brain spin-off for grown ups that always starts with them sitting tired at coffee in the morning:

Pinky: "What are we going to do tonight?"
Brain: "Same thing we do every night. Try to go to bed early"

And then the whole episode is just about how stuff comes up and prevents them from going to bed early.

@mrtazz lets be honest that 90% of “stuff that comes up” is just getting sucked into something on your phone lol

@ksylor @mrtazz

it’s where some ppl find a sense of control or community. personally I seek those out in my own head 🙃

@mrtazz I would absolutely watch this.
@mrtazz You could call it Pink Eye and the Brain Fog.
@mrtazz you don't have to call me out like that, bro
@mrtazz "...Try to take some control over our lives"
@mrtazz that's hilarious. I'd end up sleeping late because I was watching it.
@mrtazz PINKY: "*deep sigh* Narf."

@mrtazz Tangential: I didn't own a TV on the 90s, and thus watched very little TV shows then, but I was reading Usenet. And Usenet was rife with Pinky and the Brain quotes in the mid-nineties. It got so I developed a voice for those characters in my head. When I finally saw a clip, years later, I was quite disappointed at the actual voices.

Same thing happened to me for that Bain character in the Batman movie.

@mrtazz

I thought the original WAS for adults!

@mrtazz, this hit home so hard! 😅

Yeah, Series'n'Switch is a real problem...

@mrtazz ah, you have kids too
@mrtazz I would sob through that

@mrtazz @coachtony
It’s Mindy and the Brain
It’s Mindy and the Brain
One’s a small child
the other’s …
The Brain

Eeeeewe
Brain smell like poopie!

I loved Animanic Stew!

@mrtazz Pinky & Thebrain was for grownups. Wasn’t it?
@anitavondannen @mrtazz I keep seeing people say this, and I'm confused why.

@mrtazz this reminds me I need to go back and continue watching "Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle".

If you're not put off by animu for kids, this could scratch that itch. It's all about said princess who was captured and embarks on an ever now absurd quest to manage to get a good night's sleep in the cell where she's kept awaiting rescue

@mrtazz Pinky and the Brain wasn’t! for adults??
@mrtazz I'd watch the crap out of this, but I'm going to go to bed early.
@mrtazz we need to hook you up with the regular show writers
@mrtazz @brianokken it’s 10:30PM and I’m laughing nervously at this and glancing at my remaining todo list for the day
@glyph @mrtazz I mostly try to keep my todo list in my head now. Works great since I’ve never had a ver good memory. Frees up tons of time.
@glyph @mrtazz not honestly, of course. I write things down. Then try to remember which todo app I’ve saved it in.
@mrtazz I would legitimately watch this haha.
@mrtazz I'm looking forward to the "Oh no, it's Bin Night" and "The cat's been sick and is hiding behind the washing machine"
@mrtazz @bastianallgeier They could do an episode about their favorite chair. Or how they finally figure out the perfect arrangement for all their tv remotes. The possibilities are endless!
@mrtazz I would 100% watch this.
@mrtazz this one hits a little too close to home
@mrtazz Do Not this is too real
@mrtazz and then maybe they actually get to bed early once but stuff keeps waking them up
@mrtazz could put some stuff to the script.
@mrtazz this speaks to me as a parent
@mrtazz In season 3 one of them succeeds for the first time in the history of the series, ends up taking over the world. In the next episode everything continues as if this never happened.
@mrtazz I feel attacked, but also I want to watch this
