Christian SeligI have a fun idea to commission some of the artists who did Apollo icons to create some really cool final Apollo wallpapers to remember the app by. Is this something you'd pay a few bucks for, where the proceeds would go toward Apollo's refund fees?

@Wouldn’t mind, but I do like the iconography of Apollo enough to pay for it beyond the 30th. I’m hoping the t-shirts at least gets to stay.

harryprayiv@christianselig I won’t accept a refund from you. You created something great; and for that, I am happy to let you keep the money I paid you. It’s very sad that you’re not interested in porting Apollo to the fediverse, though, because apps are popping up left and right when all many of us really want is Apollo for the fediverse. Memmy is starting to look like a worthy successor but there’s SO much that it will never have that Apollo had.
smellythief@harryprayiv @christianselig I second this. An Apollo front end for Lemmy would, I think, bring over some Apollo users that might not move otherwise. I think the publicity of the Apollo dev making a Lemmy client would really help push people toward decentralized alternatives. And he would have a user base advantage unlike any of the upcoming apps.
But maybe Memmy will get there. It's only in beta and has Apollo as a roadmap after all. So maybe it will have everything Apollo had after all. 🤞
