Immediately after launch there will be opportunities to help with code and extensions.

The platform launch is happening at DEFCON (August 10-13, Las Vegas) and we are running this fundraiser to help fund those efforts. Any remaining funds will go the general fund of The Veilid Foundation, a non-profit org formed to support the adoption of Veilid.

We need funds for the launch.

The truth is that a lot of personal funds and a lot of intellectual work has gone into it to get this far.

In order to get there, we have this limited time fundraiser going. On the front, the Veilid logo, on the arms, on the right a cDc logo, and on the left a hackers.town logo.

We intend to restore the promise of the internet that we lost, and we need you to do it with us.

@thegibson There's some problem selecting international shipping; the web form validates my address but still won't allow the order to finish.
Custom Ink Support says that they can process the order, if I phone them.
So that's good news :-)

Some of us hope for something to change the trajectory. This has to be global. I guess if this is that US centric it's not what I thought it was. I'd donate to something that wasn't. I can't donate because I'm not a good ol boy. :(

@thegibson Because I've been burned before by platforms with similar claims, I'm curious:
what would the hardware and software requirements be? SSB promises similar things, but most of it is built on bloated web tech that I can't run.
Also, how does this relate to projects like Spritely? Is there any plan for interoperating with them?
