Unless new info emerges, I cannot recommend #Lemmy in good conscience. Federation doesn't fix this IMHO because being a main developer is a high position and it also affects non-dev things like donations.

For this reason, I wish to distance myself from #Lemmy.

#FreeSoftware is great but no excuse to ignore other issues.

@Wuzzy are you aware of the difference between cultural genocide and actual genocide? Using the term "genocide" in regards to forcing cultures to change, is a bit gross.

What China is doing is bad but it's not genocide. They aren't exterminating a group of peoples. They are destroying their culture.

Folks are 'disappearing', there's been documented forced sexual assault, and many live in work camps.

It fits the standard definitions of genocide, even if it doesn't match any of the top ten genocides.
