#FPQuestion of the day:
What fountain-pen media do you consume (YouTube, blogs, etc.)? What about them do you find interesting, entertaining, or informative?
#FountainPen
@penfount Instagram, reddit, and I guess here now. I like to see what people's newest are, see ink swatches and writing samples, get some news on upcoming pens, and see what the makers and artists are producing.

@penfount Will usually check out Goulet Pens' videos when they come out.

I'll watch review videos by anybody I can find when I'm trying to convince myself I need to buy a particular pen..

The FP subreddit is pretty great, but I'm taking the reddit debacle as an excuse to kick my reddit habit ;)

@penfount I really like, on YouTube, Inkquiring Minds’s Doug Rathbun. He has a bit of the darker, more snarky sense of humor that I appreciate. And he gets into detail about the pens.

I like sbrebrown too but he’s less entertaining and a bit more…angry or hostile? when he doesn’t like something.

@penfount On YT I watch Figboot On Pens, Goulet Pencast (though somehow I’ve gotten 3 or 4 episodes behind), Doodlebud, Pause with a Pen, Mike Matteson, and I was watching Chris Saenz but have gotten behind on her videos, too. I love seeing pen reviews and especially ink swatching/reviews because I love buying new inks even though I already have more than I can finish. I also live vicariously through a lot of these videos since my FP budget is slashed.
@penfount There are a few more FP YT channels like Seemownay, Carrots & Olives, The Wet Pen, and probably more I’m forgetting and/or don’t watch regularly, but catch if they are recommended.
@penfount I mostly consume random YT videos when I'm looking for info on how to disassemble a specific pen, a lot of FPN, fountainpen.it and Reddit. Still trying to understand how to deal with Mastodon so I cannot say that I consume this in any way.
@penfount Mostly Reddit before..yanno. But I'd also peruse blogs on occasion

@penfount Figboot on Pens, @penaddict , Inky Rocks... I like people who are conversational and informative. I don't often like terribly long videos unless I am watching them live or have them on in the background while doing something else.

I am only on Instagram occasionally but I use my husband's account there- I'm too much of a scroller to have my own.
