I've tried to capture my excitement for developing for visionOS in a single blog post. In short, I believe that this represents the start of the next major computing paradigm and poses a tremendous opportunity for developers. I'm expecting to be a “day one" developer and will do everything I can to develop expertise in this platform as quickly as possible. The early stages of new platforms aren't always easy to work on, but the possibilities they allow for are immense.

A Developer's View of Vision Pro - David Smith, Independent iOS Developer

@_Davidsmith I think people are vastly underselling this platform. It doesn’t have to completely replace anything else to be “worth it” and I suspect that the concept really lands much better first hand. I can’t wait to start tweaking my apps for it.
@_Davidsmith I quite look forward to half of the VisionOS apps being simple but unexpected Underscore creations.
@_Davidsmith new major computing paradigm? Maybe the same way smart watches are…
@_Davidsmith great take ... I'm sure you are on the right path, and yours is exactly the reaction that Apple wanted in previewing their work at WWDC. Best of luck with WidgetSmith on visionOS!
@_Davidsmith I think I'm going to use this kick in the pants to finally develop an app. gonna develop a basic Mac version of my idea so the underpinnings are solid and then work on porting to visionOS when the SDK comes out.
@_Davidsmith @imyke Only wish I could TestFlight WHATEVER you develop!!!

@_Davidsmith Your vision (😉) is very compelling - but we have to remember about comfort... If that suppose to replace a desktop/laptop... or be a viable alternative - it has to be comfortable for 6-8h. Also: with 2h battery life, it's basically a stationary device if we would like to use it for work. That brings other issues... like what if I had to pee? 😅

I'm very excited, but ergonomic aspects might be a deal-breaker - I have less doubts for mythical AR glasses - but we're far from them 🤔

@_Davidsmith Can’t wait to see Widgetsmith on visionOS and whatever else you cook up. 🙌 🎉
@_Davidsmith Absolutely. This is it - the start of a whole new mode of computing. In fact a whole new art form, a new way of humanity expressing itself. It will take years to mature and go fully mass market. But it will happen. Selecting with your eyes, making and typing with your hands… amazing. Just think of the accessibility benefits.
@_Davidsmith I agree completely! I've worked professionally in the XR space for many years, and your comment is one that I've used myself. It's exciting to see Apple investing in the same...err..."vision": "I suspect the promise of this fundamentally new platform might not be fully expressed for a number of years as the hardware and software of the platform mature, but having experienced it, I can’t really see a future where this isn’t the way we interact with computers."
@_Davidsmith I plan to make at least 5 apps for VisionOS, I told people that at WWDC23 this year. That’s without being able to actually experiment with Vision Pro.
@_Davidsmith Someone please make Sherlock’s Mind Palace as a memory aid. https://memorise.org/memory-training/mind-palace-memory-technique
Mind Palace Memory Technique - Memorise

The mind palace memory technique was first written about 2,000 years ago by Cicero in his writings Rhetorica ad Herennium.'. Students and memory champs use
