Perhaps my memory is faulty, but I seem to remember that there was a time when espionage, sedition, treason, and attempting a coup would have been considered dealbreakers for the Republican Party. The former "Party of LIncoln" now seems to be a Confederacy of Dunces.

@LeChevalier Not Abraham LIncoln, Teddy Roosevelt, nor Dwight Eisenhower would be allowed anywhere near today's Republican Party. They don't even want the Bush, Cheney, or McCain in the Party anymore.
