We visited the synchronous condensers in Kiisa & Püssi, 2 of the 3 to be built in 🇪🇪 as part of the #BalticSynchronisation Project
They are needed to disconnect the #electricity grid from Russia and guarantee the synchronisation of the Baltics with the 🇪🇺 network

We are at the Estonian-Latvian border, where the 330kV transmission line Tartu-Valmiera passes by.
This line was energised in May 2023. The upgrade will help reinforce the existing transmission network for secure synchronisation with the Continental #EU Network.

It's called Bog Crane (Sookurg in Estonian) and is part of the #BalticSynchronisation #PCI.
