Game publishers make money by selling currencies that can purchase rare loot boxes, but there’s no guarantee what items are inside, so you might get duplicates.
@sub_o@Litzz11 its a video game mechanic for stuff in games you can obtain or collect, and EA famously got sued by parents over the concept because they leveraged casino-like tactics against children in order to get them addicted to the 'gambling variant' of lootboxes in game that cost money to buy.
