@StarTrekHour @petertrek1 A3: I don't know exactly but what I hope is that however it's resolved doesn't mess with the continuity of the Federation still having a ban on genetic engineering in the time of TNG and Prodigy.
@kcarr2015, I suppose that whether she gets incarcerated would depend on whether she tweaked her own DNA – clearly there's the suspicion of that. Also, her record in Starfleet would be relevant.
I'm thinking inheritance or not her choice, and her record meaning that she's permitted to continue in her role.
@StarTrekHour @petertrek1 A2: It'll probably work out fairly quickly, with a deal like Bashir's - she can stay in Starfleet but there will be mild consequences. There won't be any "wow, maybe we shouldn't judge people by their DNA" revelations.
They can't take it too far as the genetic engineering ban is still taken super seriously in the 24th century. Which is a shame, there are tons of interesting genetic engineering stories to tell.
