Q3: How do you think Una’s cliffhanger story arc will play out in Season 2? @petertrek1 #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds #StarTrekHour
@StarTrekHour @petertrek1
Like it did with Data in “The Measure of a Man”.
It will probably be an ongoing season long plot. If they keep it low key after the first battle in court, it could work.
It could also show the not so nice side of Starfleet.

@StarTrekHour @petertrek1 A3: I don't know exactly but what I hope is that however it's resolved doesn't mess with the continuity of the Federation still having a ban on genetic engineering in the time of TNG and Prodigy.

We get a hint of what happens to her eventually in this episode. I am curious to see if Pike now prepared for this can stop it from happening, thus further messing with the timeline (unless she was always supposed to not get incarcerated).🤔

@kcarr2015, I suppose that whether she gets incarcerated would depend on whether she tweaked her own DNA – clearly there's the suspicion of that. Also, her record in Starfleet would be relevant.

I'm thinking inheritance or not her choice, and her record meaning that she's permitted to continue in her role.

@StarTrekHour @petertrek1 A2: It'll probably work out fairly quickly, with a deal like Bashir's - she can stay in Starfleet but there will be mild consequences. There won't be any "wow, maybe we shouldn't judge people by their DNA" revelations.

They can't take it too far as the genetic engineering ban is still taken super seriously in the 24th century. Which is a shame, there are tons of interesting genetic engineering stories to tell.
