Sooo... I don't want it but #MKBHD has now made me lust after the AppleFapple: https://youtu.be/OFvXuyITwBI

But there is SOOO much dystopia crammed into this one device. Like... sooo much.

You want the headset that recorded that kid's birthday in #HorizonZeroDawn?

YOU GOT IT.

You want superspoopy rendered versions of your eyes looking out of a visor at your friends?

YOU GOT IT.

You want an empty bank account?

YOU DEF GOT IT.

@Jyoti Not gonna lie - still would get it if I had the money. What can I say - one step closer to my cyborg self, I'm all down for such tech nonsense. Minority Report interface, when?

@redmaker

MKBHD's review has made me want one even though I know what I actually want is version 3 or 4, not 1!

@Jyoti a very fair point, indeed. Being an early adopter can be fun, but I’d also rather wait for revision 2 or 3 before actually getting one myself. Also: Console gamer for 30 years, one lessen learned: Wait for software specifically made for a given device before actually getting said device, otherwise boredom and thus the (false) disappointment of being underwhelmed occur.

@redmaker

I still miss the days when the Dreamcast was all shiny and new. #JetsetRadio awww yeaahhhh!

@Jyoti Yea, uhm… just let me know when you wanna come over then, k? Bring some beer!
@Jyoti Yes, yes, Jet Set Radio should be somewhere in there, too. And Jet Set Radio Future, too, but that one somewhere more eh, I think on the right side. Where the Dreamcast Demos are. Anyway.

@redmaker

Dreamcast classics would also have to include #SpeedDevils and #SoulCalibur

@Jyoti SoulCalibur made me even get a Dreamcast in the first place. Rented it over a weekend back then from one of those video stores with a mate, we both couldn't stop playing that game and went to the stores instantly on monday and bought it in an instant. :D

@redmaker

There's something about #SoulCalibur on the DC that no other iteration matches; I dunno if it's the video or what, I'm not geeky enough.

But it feels like a slick arcade console experience. It spoilt me for all subsequent fighting games

😢

@Jyoti It's fast. Simple as that. Play it right next to each following entry, it's still the fastest. Plus: "Button Smashing" works, like that's just a Namco thing I guess - same goes for Tekken. But: That makes it WAY approachable for newbies - hence you get addicted easily, since the learning curve in this one is just perfect, honestly. Plus: Add the "Mission Mode" on top - the first entry stays the best, in my opinioin.

@redmaker

You're making me teary-eyed...

arghhh

*sniffs*

@redmaker @Jyoti
Just on looks Soul Calibre blew me away but there great game there also.
It was Crazy Taxi being a DC exclusive that got me to buy a Dreamcast.
@raymierussell Ah, another classic, and instantly I got that "YA YA YA YA YA!" in my head, so thanks for that. :D

@raymierussell @redmaker

Oh yeah CRAZY TAXI with that fucking soundtrackkkk

... which they lost the rights for so you can only play pirate versions now?

(that last bit could be net gossip ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

@Jyoti Well, you *can* buy modern versions, but without the soundtrack. I'm afraid that information is correct. Soundtrack was, as far as I know, specified to a few platforms (what nonsense to begin with), so that's why it had to be replaced.
@Jyoti (The version on my shelf of course still has it and I'm NEVER EVER letting go of that one. :D)

@redmaker

AHA! I maintain it is *not* the same game without that soundtrack. It's like SSX without all their songs, it's not right!

Can you imagine Wipeout 2097 without Firestarter in it?

Nope.

@Jyoti Exactly that. GTA has the same problem, hence why I still prefer the original releases. Mind you, it helps to *not* insist on modern 60+ fps, I mean... I played that shit back then, I'll survive it today. I just like to play my stuff on original hardware, which is the reason for the collection. I'm less a collector, I'm more a messy, refusing to let go of that lovely old entertainment tech! :D
