pretty sure i own that water bottle

i like that we're getting the first glimpse of how powerful IT/judicial is—my vague recollection of the book is of IT being even more so

putting the shutoff valve in between the pressure relief tank and the pipe seems like bad design. also, what's producing the steam and couldn't they shut that off? or like, any way of bypassing the generator and venting the steam out wherever it usually goes?

ooh, wonder if that girl noticed the fake lush greenery

how is there no one better qualified than the clearly out of his depth kid?

or they could have taken out symmetrical blades to remove the imbalance and restarted it while they repaired the others. clearly this is written like this to force juliet to deal with her fear of water, but still

those gripes aside, this was a good episode—the tension of the generator maintenance was very well done

This show is getting stressful.

Ooh, we finally get evil Bernard!

She's clearly not going to fall to her death. There's definitely one of the landings right below her.

This episode was very tense and very well done. The whole adaptation has been really well executed.

This show was fantastically well done, I eagerly await the next season. In the meantime, I think I'm going to reread the books.

All of the acting was good, and Rebecca Ferguson in particular was great. The writing and adaptation from the book was good (I think, it's been ages since I read the books). It was not action-packed, but it moved along at a fairly steady clip. The visuals were good, and the soundtrack was fantastic. There is, at this moment, not a thing I would change about this season.

they omitted the detail from the book about the rancid soup lol

I feel like much of that ordeal could have been avoided if she hadn’t tied the rope right over the middle

I cannot tell which sounds are supposed to be diegetic or nondiegetic

I’m fascinated why they seem to have made him a complete recluse not even able to leave IT; that is not the case in the book

I am fascinated to see what becomes of Lukas, he was way more important in the book

juliette underwater is no less terrifying here than in the book (though I think in the book, she at least had the foresight to bring a knife to cut the rope)

a thought has occurred to me: what if salvador quinn's/bernard's/lukas's question is "why are the silos necessary." i hope that does not portend the showwrunners dropping or minimizing Shift

i am curious to see what happens with the other inhabitant(s) of silo 17. what it seems like they were hinting at with the axe and the arrow and the blood does not align with the book

Sims is just tiresome at this point

Walker becoming an informant I just do not buy

So I guess the other people in 17 are the kids, just way older than in the book. The pacing of Juliette's plot line is also tiresome—it felt like nothing happened this whole episode

Tim Robbins is very good

This was one of the best episodes of the season. But given that we're only just getting to the end of _Wool,_ I grow increasingly concerned that they're just going to cut out _Shift_ altogether

This season was once again very good. My only complaint was that, at times, the pacing felt a little slow. But the payoff was worth it.

Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Robbins continue to be really great. Steve Zahn is also a solid addition.

I am incredibly excited for season 3 to see how they do Shift.

@shadowfacts I strongly suspect they will condense it a lot. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of the threads dropped entirely, and others addressed in flashbacks. Frankly, I found that particular book to be rather tedious reading, and some of the characters were… not the brightest, to say the least.

@shadowfacts My hypothesis is that maintenance is communicating with people on the outside.

Seems likely that they, however, do not get resources from outside. "Repurposing cameras." Implies finite inventory that is possibly not replenishable.

Still no idea whether the people in the silo are being protected or used. Seems more like the latter so far but to what end? We know nothing of the world outside. Is it even Earth?
