so you know how music players have the 'M' key bound to "Mute" button, where the track is playing but you hear only silence.

well, it turns out the XnView image viewer has the 'M' key bound to "Show Alpha Mask", and if you press it on most PNGs, the result is that the image is loaded but you see only a white rectangle in its place (white representing 100% opaque).

when I discovered this by accident I was like "why the fuck would you want to Mute a picture"
