this show looks fantastic
the first episode was very good, i'm excited for the rest of the show
I am fascinated to see what becomes of Lukas, he was way more important in the book
juliette underwater is no less terrifying here than in the book (though I think in the book, she at least had the foresight to bring a knife to cut the rope)
boy, bernard keeps becoming even more of a motherfucker
ah yes, Apple Vision Pro
@shadowfacts he obviously didn’t know about the door
I’m betting he doesn’t know what it connects to, either, but I imagine we got a glimpse of that right before the credits
And I think I need to read the books, now
@shadowfacts I was sure she was going to escape, run the the corn and get away, and then she didn’t
and then the show surprised me by giving me exactly what I expected, and ended on a somehow-amazing cliffhanger
very good
@shadowfacts My hypothesis is that maintenance is communicating with people on the outside.
Seems likely that they, however, do not get resources from outside. "Repurposing cameras." Implies finite inventory that is possibly not replenishable.
Still no idea whether the people in the silo are being protected or used. Seems more like the latter so far but to what end? We know nothing of the world outside. Is it even Earth?
@shadowfacts my main comment was basically “the silo is clearly a technological and engineering marvel why does it not have fully redundant generators”
(the answer is “plot”, ofc)
@shadowfacts they also should have a bunch of spare blades instead of trying to patch one up on a tight schedule.
But yes, really well-done episode.
> so the rebellion not only destroyed all written records, but also somehow completely stopped the passing on of oral history?
That part seemed a little iffy to me
