I find it very middle-aged middle-class, like all people who work posh jobs (weekends off and stuff), paid off their mortgage, garden, bird-spot, think holiday = hiking in UK not sunburning in spain, etc. Like there's probably zero daily-mail readers on here & half are scientists. Which is fine, but makes it feel cliquey, even though these people are on different continents! so it's not

@ThisPlaceAgain Have a whole list of black mastodon so I can learn from people with different experiences. There have been a few black folks I have not followed, but my feed here is way more diverse that it ever was on twitter. This place was made to help out the marginalized I really hope this becomes a safe comfortable home for many.

There's a few other people, but it feels like one long lecture on climate change and nuclear physics. Which is fine, I'm antisocial. Also it's 90%usa, but at least I'm a native english speaker so that's just the downside of privilege really
