You know that feeling when you’re within 100 pages of finishing a beautiful story & notice you’re a bit sad because you’re not ready to say goodbye to such enchanting characters?

I’m at that part of Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr. It’s the most magnificent book I’ve read in years. #books

@Sheril Ooh, thanks for the rec!
@Sheril loved this book! I feel like I was holding my breath the last few chapters.
@Sheril Thanks for pointing this out.
@Sheril Oooh, I've just started it! This makes me super happy.
@Sheril definitely had that feeling with this book! It’s a fabulous story.
@Sheril Agreed!! Wonderful book. I listened to the audio.
@Sheril Thanks for the tip!
My personal 'I don't want to leave that world' was when I read the books about Thule, the series 'Children of mother Earth' by Thea Beckman. I longed to live in that world. And although I read them as an adult, I remember I was so sad about the books coming to an end. I cherished every word on the last pages, knowing the last one would definitely mean good-bye.
@Sheril Read Cloud Cuckoo Land and loved the story!
@Sheril anything with Constantinople in it is a winner!

A Suitable Boy was like that for me. Thanks for the recommendation.

@Sheril I know that feeling of sadness when finishing a good book too well.

The only time I have glee instead is when I’m writing one 😕
