not really interested in getting into warhammer, but the space nuns and orcs (orks lololol) are kinda neat

feel like they'd be fun to paint

but also super mutants are basically orcs

not feeling the giant ass mechs they have

first they're not mini at all ololol

also most of them look real boxy and like they were definitely not designed by engineers

also regarding space marines: a lot of them have arm position variants, but not legs?

the space nuns have both???

and it would look so much better if you have a dozen of those units if you can change up their stances

also the games workshop site is terrible to navigate unless you know exactly what you're looking for

and are only looking for that one thing

changing the filters just fucking collapses everything and you basically gotta start all over again

incredibly newbie hostile

i like the idea of a dice tower

maybe not a tower, but a box or container or something, to roll dice into

i've seen two games played out now where people just roll on the battlefield and knock shit over

bruh what lol

WHY

you spend all this effort bringing out your silly ass tape measurer moving units precisely then knock them over rolling dice

fucking why

do you paint figures or bases first

i don't like the idea of assembly much, but starting to see the advantages lol

My brother's gift came

This looks big lol

Sure looks complicated
saving this for when i actually feel like i can really paint anything xD
mini painters are weird because they're like yes i will spend $200 on these minis but $10 to save me eight hours painting the minis is an abomination and a money grab
Mtg players: "I love this card. It cost $100 and I paid $15 to get it signed, which reduced its value to $80, and now I will double sleeve it and put it in a hard case for display"

i never actually played vampire the masquerade but i feel like their novels could be good

(i need to throw away books not obtain more books)

oh shit
i already ordered minis from this etsy store so waiting on that to see if they're good quality xD

Two and a half hours later I melted Nora's face

I am so sorry Nora

I learned a lot tho :3

notes: holy hell the rifle on the back was hell

the yellow vault numbers on the back and yellow stripes on the front are hell because of the rifle and arms in the way

did not thin the paint, was seeing what i could do without it. didn't thin the primer on her either

since the base was black i assumed it would be hard to do yellow + blue stripes

not really, just two coats of yellow made it pretty solid

anyway no thinning, no washing, no lighting/shading, this will be good to see what progression is like as i go on

this takes so fucking long tho lol

Start was easy

Layers slowing me down and I dunno what I want lol

Ngl I have no idea wtf I'm doing lololol
Honestly the best thing about this is the fusion cell in the gun lol

i dunno how many of these i need to actually play a solo campaign/mission thing

i should actually read that manual

i thought i had a box of q-tips somewhere but i can't find them
gonna wrap paper towel around a small screwdriver lol

Stripped Nora's face to try again

And again

And again

I am very bad at this and artists should be paid more lolololol

I tried eyes, highlighting, mouth, shadows, everything is hard on these tiny ass faces

Nothing works. Face bleeds into hair. Hair bleeds into face

I added butt spackles like she sat down in something to amuse myself after failure so many times

At least I can do these between bouts of my medication fucking me today, and it gives them time to dry! 🙃

Bruh btw

I do not recommend glaucoma

My lack of depth perception up close has led to... numerous fails

Don't get glaucoma

I think I wanna highlight/recolor her boots but that's it lol

After that dry and varnish TO MAINTAIN MY FIRST FAILURE FOR ETERNITY

Roughing up your mini for wear is a lot easier and more fun tho ngl lol

Bonus: is a soap box the right size for a 32mm scale cargo container 🤔 bit tall, width is good...

i'm finding out varnish can be... coplicated
Fuck it yolo lolololol
Looks uhhhhh

Kinda foamy?? Instructions say light coats

Does not specify number

Side note: wasted a lot of varnish

Shoulda waited to do more at once

Two coats prolly enough
@worthlessbums you're doing great Bums. Everything from this point onwards is practice!
@kaynSD i like how this simultaneously went about as bad as i expected, yet also better xD
@worthlessbums A little less paint on the brush, and get you some washes, and you'll be perfect.
