TIL that the music speaker market today mostly consists of mobile bluetooth speakers or 'sound bars'. the latter get their signal via HDMI (??) mostly. HDMI has DRM btw.

Combined with the fact that most phones don't come with an audio jack anymore, I can't help but feel like there is a strong push towards eliminating the analog hole in consumer audio devices.

and I didn't notice this at all because i mostly use old/used or audio production gear
