@Pwnallthethings looks like he was shooting for a complete collection there
@Pwnallthethings It’s mostly the accusations of the 7 whistleblowers in his office whom he fired. It seems that what finally caught up with him is he needed $3.3 mil to make the whistleblowers go away for their wrongful termination claims. But he needed TX lege to OK the payment. In the meantime the feds started investigating. And the House members were concerned they’d get roped into the fed investigation if they paid. So they created a secret investigation to examine the whistleblower claims

@mawhrin @Pwnallthethings “Too flagrantly corrupt for the Texas Republican Party” is a hell of a look.

(even if it took them a decade to get there)

@Pwnallthethings Ted Cruz said on Twitter that this is tragic
@Pwnallthethings When you are so crooked even Republicans can see that you are crooked.
@Pwnallthethings Imagine the level of corruption required to get them to do this. Astonishing.
@mattblaze I mean, it was a *lot* of corruption
@mattblaze @Pwnallthethings I can't believe it and I live here. Securities fraud, harassment, retaliation, that was apparently ok with the TX GOP until this week. I wonder who he kited a check to...
@mattblaze @Pwnallthethings I don't know how much of this is a joke but he wanted to go after the speaker of the house. Believe it or not this speaker, Dade Phelan has done a lot to make sure Texas politics aren't even more right wing. I think there's a lot more to all this. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/24/us/texas-ken-paxton-speaker-drunk.html
Texas G.O.P. Leaders Clash Over Accusations of Corruption and Drunkenness

Attorney General Ken Paxton accused the Republican House speaker of being intoxicated, as he suggested that lawmakers were preparing to impeach him over corruption allegations.

The New York Times
@sqncs @mattblaze @Pwnallthethings Krazy Ken was just trying to smear Phelan as a last-ditch attempt to head off the impeachment vote. Imagine your own party hating you more than Rs in the Senate hate Ted Cruz! They need 2/3 vote to convict in the Senate, and more than 4/5 of the House voted against him! There's hope he'll be cast out screaming into the void...
@Pwnallthethings I wonder how likely it is that the TX Senate convicts him? And will his wife recuse herself from the vote?
@Pwnallthethings i bet thats somewhat of a relief
@Pwnallthethings It seems to me like it should cost more than $25,000 to buy an attorney general?

@Pwnallthethings

My name is still on the list #KenPaxton made of #Texans who changed their #Gender marker and name n their driver's license in the last two years.

Impeachment is a beginning.

@Pwnallthethings suspended? Good for Texas, in many ways.

@Pwnallthethings “It concerns me a lot because today it could be General Paxton, tomorrow it could be you and the next day it could be me.”

Taking bribes, Mr. Smithee? 🤡

@Pwnallthethings Checked his Twitter and Yes he has been posting through it the whole time. We love a good clown show!!
