In contrast to what is going in Texas, see #Arizona, where we worked hard to elect a Democratic governor in 2022. Now #KatieHobbs has vetoed anti-democracy bills and Republicans don't have enough votes to override. https://www.commoncause.org/press-release/common-cause-arizona-dangerous-anti-democracy-bill-vetoed-by-governor-hobbs/ #USpolitics
Common Cause Arizona: Dangerous Anti-Democracy Bill Vetoed by Governor Hobbs

Common Cause
@heidilifeldman Yes! Arizona is a true swing state. I hope more blue voters move to Arizona to help turn it blue.

@scottspeaking @heidilifeldman

On average, I fail to see that happening, for a couple of reasons. The 'mean' age of people relocating to AZ, the general intellect level and foresight of blue voters considering moving to a SW desert location w/ looming water issues, and the general lack of desire to sign into a state with such incendiary politics that imply instability. I wish the balance would change, too, but I'm not hopeful.

The reasons I gave were the flip side of reasons I moved out of Clark Co., NV.

@skydog @heidilifeldman Stu, thanks for your thoughts. My view is that Dem voters (who are willing and able) should move to purple states to hold them in federal elections. If Dem voters moved to and resided in current blue states, the GOP would control the Presidency and the U.S. Senate. Dem voters who are motivated by water and climate issues could move to other swing states such as Wisconsin or Michigan.

@heidilifeldman

After #Beto lost, I ruthlessly mark as #spam any solicitation from a #Democrat running for anything where I can't vote for them. For non-partisan elections, if you're not running for an office where my vote counts, such as my city council district or at-large, your emails are also nuked.

It's not about you, it's about my implementation of "Think globally: act locally."
