e2the1stpower@georgetakei We not only need someone in office who will not abandon our allies and the deals we’ve made but also not allow that money to be funneled elsewhere. I’m all for helping Ukraine as they deserve it on top of the fact that we promised to protect them as part of a deal that was made with them, ironically to help prevent war with Russia.

We can unfortunately expect the invasion to be continuing when the US presidential handover happens, and in fact Putin will be aiming to ensure that it drags on that long, in the hope of a US climbdown under a Republican POTUS. Trump, or *even worse* (and I think that genuinely is possible).
Electoral disinformation in the US will be just another front for Putin in his war on Ukraine.

As a result, every subsequent election has huge stakes on it, and that'll be the case for the foreseeable future.
