Folks, I was *looking at the people in the kitchen* as they said this. They were 12' away, and the door was open. 😐
The wait staff didn't know how to take an order on a paper check and give it to the kitchen. There was no manager on site that could tell them to just run a cash business for the evening. The place ground to a halt without Wifi.
By this point, there were three parties they were turning away. They essentially closed for the night.

😂 So, we just went into a small restaurant that only has about eight tables. Something seemed a bit off. The host came up to us and said they had a momentary power outage, and even though the power had come back on, the Wifi didn't, which means their ordering/payment system was off line, so they couldn't seat anyone.
I said, "What if I paid in cash?"

I've been reviewing privacy policies of major UK sporting event organisers.
Medical data collected without legal basis, international transfers undisclosed, no separate consent for facial recognition, no documented data processing agreements with photography providers.
Nobody has looked at this properly yet. The full data chain — registration, results, photography, facial recognition — creates a biometric identification pipeline that any member of the public can access.
The ICO hasn't issued sector-specific guidance. I've written up the analysis and invited them to take a look.

Glædelig #StoreBededag / arbejdernes kampdag. Jeg havde ikke fri, hvilket føltes ekstra hårdt med det dejlige solskinsvejr.
På en eller anden måde føles det rigtigt at de falder sammen så Mette Frederiksen bliver tvunget til at forholde sig til at hun tog en fridag fra arbejderne (og os der ikke er rigtige arbejdere) og også rigtigt at det sker midt i regeringsforhandlinger hvor dem der fandt på at afskaffe den er de to hovedpersoner. Jeg krydser fingre for at den bliver genindført, jeg tror vi alle sammen har godt af vores forårsfridage - så det kan fejres at vinteren er forbi.
