Absolutely glorious on the shore this morning despite the biting east wind. Today, I was leading a guided walk for Val and Karen, who are visiting Arran this week. We were treated to views of a female and a dog otter, a great northern diver in full breeding plumage, and a host of gannets hunting amongst the white caps.

Also on our walk today, we had a look at this amazing fossil footprint. This is the footprint left by a Chirotherium or "hand-beast" in 270 million year old sediments.
