@MostlyHarmless just listening to “the dawn of everything” and they talk about how First Nations in the Americas used collective consequences rather than police or jails and apparently it was quite effective.

@MostlyHarmless I was like this kid and strangely enough, none of my educators or principals appreciated me.

@MostlyHarmless Good kid. One of the few times I stood out in high school was when I refused to join in a round of pushups in Physical Education class, commanded on account of some classmate joking around. Not all memories of adolescence are bad memories.

@MostlyHarmless Collective punishment when I was a kid in school fired up an anger at injustice that I still have to this day, 60 years later.

@MostlyHarmless As a retired teacher, I can not imagine a teacher using this approach now. But then, I have trouble believing that book banning and don't say gay/trans/real-history is considered appropriate educational methodology.
