This does not seem fair.

Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UKthe rise in standing charges is due to the existence of extra profit-seeking companies since privatisation (the electricity DNO (distribution network operator - eg UKPN, Powergrid, SSEPN) or gas network operator (Cadent, NGN, SGN etc), which have a natural monopoly but have also neglected improving or maintaining infrastructure, requiring expensive last minute fixes/upgrades (in my town Cadent have half the roads up at this time)
@Geri I’m not in the country but I can’t remember the last time I engaged with any BBC ‘news’. I’ve written them off completely.

@Geri @DJWhite so do I Geri, up to a point. After 35 years of listening to BBC news I'd had enough. Kuenessburg, R4Today's daily propaganda, Dorries given free reign for a solid 10 mins on the World at One by a sycophantic Jonny Diamond, fawning over the royals they like, the Lineker fiasco, photoshopping a Russian hat on JC, I could go on. Tory bast@*D's have burned it like so many other great British institutions. I now actually get informed by The News Agents and entertained by Mark Steele.
