We show LPS triggers highly punctual changes in methylation, with demethylation events profoundly enriched for enhancers. Notably, genes commonly mutated in #cancer form the target for demethylation. Further, we show exposure to LPS for 24h leads to epigenetic aging by 6 months on average. Finally, for the first time we describe genetic variation that modulates magnitude of immune methylation events.
