@ahimsa_pdx we have flowers for the bees and they visit regularly. No need for hives. Provide habitat.

@ahimsa_pdx That's why we decided against honey bees. We live a few kilometres from the nearest village, and nearest beehives. Having Apis melifera here would put extreme pressure on the wild pollinators. Also, we don't use any herbicides, though our dogs would probably be happy with less grass :)

Yes indeed. Think of honeybees as feral cats.

The interest in 'nature' is commendable but farmed bees are as greedy for resources as fields of rape seed, displacing butterflies.
