Question to the #Brits out there in the Fediverse: is your tikka masala supposed to be sweet? I’m here visiting in #London, and I was surprised by the batch we ordered. In America, it is not sweet at all. #UK #Food

@cpekruhn Sweet-ish, I’d say. On a scale of curries, sweeter than rogan josh, but not as sweet as dansak.

@aug24 Interesting. It was definitely sweeter than any rogan josh I’ve ever had for sure. The American version is not sweet at all.

@cpekruhn I guess there’s not a “right” answer because it’s not a traditional dish. Some people put sugar in Bolognese ragu, you know.

@aug24 right - it’s essentially the Pad Thai of Indian food. Was curious to see if my experience would be considered typical of the UK variety.
