And we know there are many healthcare companies waiting behind them.
The NHS cannot be trusted with the Tories. The appetite to kill & sell it is clear.
GPS see each person 7 times a year on average. At £20 per visit that’s 140 quid.
Median wage is ~27k of which ~16k is taxed at 20% raising £3200. Increasing basic income tax at 21% would be more than enough.
Increasing higher rate by 1% would be about the same.
So why choose to pay at the point of use if it’s mathematically the same?
One obvious reason is so that the poor pay more.
By the way @garius , there’s about eight of you on here. Are the others spares?

Andy BaioTwitter quietly changed its Developer Agreement today to retroactively justify their unannounced ban on third-party Twitter clients. They added a single line forbidding "use or access the Licensed Materials to create or attempt to create a substitute or similar service or product to the Twitter Applications." Just broke my rule about not discussing politics at work. Amazed to discover how little cut-through Nadhim Zahawi’s dubious tax affairs has had. Clearly “keep quiet and hope it goes away” was the right choice for him.
Very sad, yet weirdly happy, to hear of Jacinda Ardern’s resignation.
Bloody good for her - and at the same time a loss to the whole world, because she showed how power could be used decently, and courageously, and considerately.
