@kbroman I was not ready for this mustache before clicking.

@kbroman f/u I won't wrtite what you tell me!
@kbroman where do I throw my money?!?!
@paulywill @kvndy I printed it at redbubble using https://kbroman.org/assets/ratml_gray.png They got a take-down notice, removed the design, and denied my “parody” appeal, but all that while still printing one for me.

@kbroman
Lucky you. I so envy you. (In a good way)
I wish I could wear such a shirt without all my neighbors thinking I totally lost my mind

@paulywill @kvndy

@kbroman @paulywill @kvndy The text certainly need not be in that font, and then it is highly topical political commentary, that should be invulnerable to such a copyright challenge.
@wndlb @kbroman @paulywill @kvndy already should have been invulnerable, it's obvious parody. I don't think voluntarily shuffling away from anything corporations growl about regardless of merit is a good idea. They'll just start growling at things they have even less right to.
@jimsalter @kbroman @paulywill @kvndy IP was never something I worked on, but moving to more defensible ground makes sense, in my view.
@kbroman My fav song from Front 242 is "Punish your machine learning".
@kbroman I want this

@kbroman I want one.... only have the one without "learning" :)
@kbroman I have a mighty need, and also to send one to my brother, who works in machine learning.

@kbroman what an insane story.

Pretty sure RATM would approve of the parody.

@kbroman omg we’re in the same state .

What a small world.

@kbroman also the irony that it was probably machine learning that detected the “violation”…
@kbroman Yep, I would totally wear that.

@kbroman

The humor in the sweatshirt title "Rage Against the Machine Learning" stems from a clever play on words and a juxtaposition of two seemingly unrelated concepts: the band "Rage Against the Machine" and "machine learning."

Play on Words: The title is a pun that merges the name of the band "Rage Against the Machine" with the term "machine learning." By substituting "the" in the band name with "the" in "machine learning," it creates a linguistic connection between the two phrases.

@kbroman

Juxtaposition: "Rage Against the Machine" is a politically charged rock band known for their rebellious and anti-establishment lyrics, while "machine learning" refers to a branch of artificial intelligence (AI) focused on creating algorithms that allow computers to learn and make predictions based on data. The juxtaposition of these two concepts creates an unexpected combination, which adds to the humor.

@kbroman

The humor in this sweatshirt title lies in the clever wordplay, the unexpected merging of two contrasting ideas, and the irony of "raging" against a field of study known for its technical and data-driven nature. It plays on the assumption that machine learning is an abstract concept, and the notion of "raging" against it seems amusingly incongruous.

@kbroman 🎵 Fuck you, I won't do what your training data tells me! 🎵
