People often think I'm in a bad mood when I'm stressed. This is because I'm putting less time into interactions with them. I think the confusion comes from their belief that I like them. When things are going well I make an effort to maintain relationships with people around me. Asking them things about themselves and their lives, empathizing, indulging their stories and jokes. This is work. When I'm stressed I have to use the energy I put into that work to handle things I actually care about.
