Similar report from about a year ago. Person passed away, but the Social Security money kept flowing into bank account. Someone had access, so they used the money.

Here's the kicker:

The deceased was still in her bed, and the relatives never reported the death. And they lived in the same house.

At the end of the article it does list a few other similar incidents but they were all folk who lived alone. Your example looks at least like a case of neglect
