Apparently, there are people who are happy that they won’t be able to install optional third party stores on iOS because they don’t live in the EU.

Like, why?! “Oh I’m sure glad this option to get more apps that Apple might have not allowed doesn’t come to MY phone!”

@thelinuxEXP They have tricked by years of Apple marketting and Apple fan boys that by having 3rd party store support all of their data will be stolen by malware
@BrodieOnLinux @thelinuxEXP Apple became a Cult. They need to be stop.

@BrodieOnLinux @thelinuxEXP It could be interesting to see if the EU can block all Apple sells and services because it's a cult.

Then, I remember that scientology is not fully illegal at least in france :(

La justice confirme autoriser l'Église de scientologie à installer un centre à Saint-Denis

L'Église de scientologie est classée en France parmi les sectes par plusieurs rapports parlementaires.

@mickpyro @BrodieOnLinux Apple isn’t a cult, it just has a disproportionate amount of fanboys
@thelinuxEXP @BrodieOnLinux that's the point, who made them like this? themself? or with the help of a charismatic leader? It could be an interesting law / philosophical studies.
@mickpyro @thelinuxEXP @BrodieOnLinux They made themselves fanboys. It’s their way to say « I’m not like those guys » (ie: Basic Windows users) and to « Think Different » even if that’s not what this slogan meant (and that’s not a topic for today).
Apple makes tools that enable you to work/create without thinking about the technical aspect of it. Side loading (and FWIW internet downloads) can be a threat to users if the source is not trustworthy. 1/
@mickpyro @thelinuxEXP @BrodieOnLinux Apple puts itself as gatekeeper for their users in that case and fanboys see that as an act of god. Get god out of the picture and of course they’ll say stupid things (btw side loading exists on iOS since the beginning with Jailbreak). 2/
@mickpyro @thelinuxEXP @BrodieOnLinux As an iOS user, I’m glad side loading comes since it’ll offer some apps that don’t match Apple’s App Store’s rules (GitHub is full of great apps you have to compile yourself and put via Xcode on your device) but I’ll probably not use it myself (the same way on my Mac I try to have apps from the Mac App Store, then Homebrew, then the big old Internet…) 3/3
