It’s interesting how the Outlier conference of the Data Visualization Society hasn’t really made any waves on here. I’ve seen four toots from three people in the first two days.

The bird site on the other hand is awash in it and I can almost follow the whole thing from afar.

@chezvoila Would be different if DVS had a presence here, I imagine
@maarten @chezvoila it is a shame DVS hasn't taken more of a moral stand against Twitter. They could help shift the centre of data viz gravity over to Mastodon.

@mikebrondbjerg @maarten @chezvoila It doesn't help that I had to close registration on vis.social when we were swamped.

We're looking into opening again. So if you know any folks who would like an invite, and they understand that this isn't twitter, send them my way.

@kristinHenry @mikebrondbjerg @maarten @chezvoila

I've opened my account at toot.community while flocking from tweeter because vis.social was closed... It woukd be nice to move to vis.social.

@ranoya Please read over our community Rules and policies:
https://vis.social/about

I've also been working on a more extended info page: https://github.com/KristinHenry/vis.social

If you're still interested in joining vis.social, let me know.

vis.social

vis.social is a community for creative people, especially anyone in SciArt, SciComm, data, visualization, creative coding, and related arts and research. English is the shared language.

Mastodon hosted on vis.social

@kristinHenry

I still don't know how to use CWs in Mastodom to hide off-topic content, but i'll find out.

For the rest, not only I do agree but also support.

I'll be pleased to join you in vis.social community.

@ranoya Great! We'd love to have you join us.

We can help with getting used to CWs, too.

I sent you an invite link.
