Does anybody remember when The Internet was an icon on your desktop?

Sure, it’s older than Windows 95, but this icon represents the 'net as an opt-in experience. It had not yet become a non-stop drip feed of anguish and arousal to your brain. You could still log off.

@benjedwards while i agree with the sentiment i also can't help but notice that of the 8 desktop icons present in this photo, 5 of them are internet or network related...

4 of them if you just count internet related
@linear @benjedwards Just 3! That "Inbox" likely uses a Windows Messaging post office, which is a set of folders on a file share. 😌
