Ben “Birthday Snakes”

I know YouTube can radicalize people because I watched one (1) video about “why Dutch bicycles are great” and a few rabbit holes and a few years later I have strong opinions about stroads and setback requirements and minimum parking requirements.

I’m just glad that if I had to be radicalized, it was for urbanism.

By the way that one (1) video about Dutch bicycles was from @notjustbikes and you should definitely watch his channel for a view of what cities could be (and in many places outside North America, actually are).

@bezekium I work out in the suburbs so my only options are to drive or to triple my commute time via bus. It’d be three hours round trip. It’s infuriating! I’d love to take any other method of transportation but it’s just not an option.

@birthdaysnakes I wouldnt say I was radicalized as I was already on the path and looking for more info on urbanization. Definitely identify as an urbanist. If you want to know what is going to influence my decision making process when it somes to cities it is likely Urbanism. 🥳

@birthdaysnakes my 11 year old has an intense hatred of stroads thanks to @notjustbikes and is currently a little upset with his Pake for immigrating from The Netherlands because it looks cooler over there with all their bikes and trains so I get it. Lol

@Melanie76Nicole @birthdaysnakes @notjustbikes hahaha I can relate to this. My kids, after being exposed to a steady diet of @notjustbikes, now want to live in Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood because it's walkable and has good transit, and all the kids can walk around on their own.

He loves the idea of bikes and trains. He has been a big fan of Not Just Bikes ever since. He liked this one because of the difference in culture and city street.
