I know YouTube can radicalize people because I watched one (1) video about “why Dutch bicycles are great” and a few rabbit holes and a few years later I have strong opinions about stroads and setback requirements and minimum parking requirements.

I’m just glad that if I had to be radicalized, it was for urbanism.

@birthdaysnakes my 11 year old has an intense hatred of stroads thanks to @notjustbikes and is currently a little upset with his Pake for immigrating from The Netherlands because it looks cooler over there with all their bikes and trains so I get it. Lol

@Melanie76Nicole @birthdaysnakes @notjustbikes Recommend one video that you think an 11-year-old first-timer would sit through. Please!

The other day I heard her and some friends fetishizing a Lamborghini.

@HalfHeartedFanatic @birthdaysnakes @notjustbikes the one that struck my 11 then 9 was this one. https://youtu.be/ORzNZUeUHAM. But he loves everything transportation that isn’t cars. He loves the idea of bikes and trains. He has been a big fan of Not Just Bikes ever since. He liked this one because of the difference in culture and city street.

https://youtu.be/GlXNVnftaNs. I hope those may help. But like I said my little guy started out as a train lover. He never was a car fan.

@Melanie76Nicole @birthdaysnakes @notjustbikes Thanks! We'll see. She's lived her whole life in Madagascar. She thinks LA is a paradise. She's never see a stroad. Best case: She'll stop dreaming of LA. Worst case: She won't connect with the videos at all.
@HalfHeartedFanatic @birthdaysnakes @notjustbikes good luck. I’ve never been to Madagascar but I know that LA isn’t the paradise they make it seem. North America cities really have no soul from what I’ve seen. Sadly

@Melanie76Nicole @birthdaysnakes @notjustbikes

I watched the JUST CARS video with her yesterday. I had to explain a few things, but she was engaged.

@HalfHeartedFanatic @birthdaysnakes @notjustbikes oh awesome! I’m so glad. It’s always nice when they can learn something new.
