Man, watching Twitter walk back basically every change it makes is increasingly depressing. Not that these changes are good, mind you--but rather that nobody's thinking these things through in any sense ahead of time.
@Quinnypig unfortunately there’s no rollback plan for the biggest contributing factor to the current incident
@Quinnypig I'm not on Twitter anymore. What are you referring to?
@wesley83 @Quinnypig I was never in there in the first place and I'm really curious about what's this about.
@wesley83 @Quinnypig I think I figured it out. Apparently they are giving free API access to public services (whatever that means) since a lot of notification services just shut down instead of paying the fees.
@Quinnypig move fast and break things then fumble for the super glue

@Quinnypig So many boil down to not understanding the exchange of value on the platform -- who *adds* value to the platform, who *extracts* value from the platform.

It's Product Management 101, and the guy in charge failed the exam.

@Quinnypig break it till you make it

@Quinnypig yeah but this comes from the same guy responsible for making 3 repeated power on/offs in a minute - the same signal used by electricity suppliers to signal reconnection to downstream equipment - factory reset a router and who decided that even though I can see and touch the vents with delicious cold air, I have to play with a touch screen to get it pointed at the parts of me that are melting off. Or the trunk lid that lets show/water sheet down into the trunk.

It’s a pattern.
