I'm @marcoarment on Bluesky if you're over there.
I don't know if it'll stick yet, but the crowd there is VERY different so far from what I've found here — much smaller, of course, but also much more diverse. It's refreshing.

@phongg @marcoarment I mean, we're both following a superstar developer who shared his SQL wrapper a few days ago. Yeah, we're nerds 😇
As for being dudes, we're both choosing cartoon characters as our public faces (no idea if Perry Bible stated if yours is male or female 😉)
@enthraxxx @marcoarment Oh I'm DEFinitely a nerdy dude. While I'm fine with it like this as a small haven for just us, I do miss the people that aren't here. Ultimately, the platform doesn't matter. The most important thing are where the people go, and at this moment that's still up in the air.
I'm sure what's drawing the varied crowd to Bluesky is both the simpler sign ups and FOMO from invites. Glad to see Mastodon is moving in the right direction with the new sign ups at least.
@enthraxxx
On the other hand, I see far more south East Asians/people from various countries on Mastodon for now & Bluesky feels very Western (though there’s sizable Japanese and Persian communities up there already). Things will likely change there as SEA folks of various ideological leanings start trying out Bluesky once the floodgates are open.
