Went down a rabbit hole of Sydney/Inner West Council plans and found this interesting report on plans to revitalise/improve Parramatta Road

The sample designs are quite promising, and feature dedicated transit lanes, as well as protected (!!) bike lanes 🤩

@Bucket @static Oh my goodness!!! IF this happens I will be in shock, and also highly pleased...
@stufromoz @Bucket I still remember what that part of Parramatta Road was like 20 years ago when I worked at Ashfield. It desperately needs de-stroading and revitalising.
@static indeed. It’s also a terrible surface for a lot of it, the concrete has shifted and is awful to ride…
@Bucket I wish the cycle lane would go along Liverpool Road also, but it's certainly a good start.
@T2commuter totally agree! Honestly it’s shocking just how few protected bike paths there are in general. That being said, looks like the councils are actually identifying it as a priority. Car infrastructure is getting harder to justify and it seems to be getting attention. Hell, Clover Moore herself outlines that businesses are pushing this.
@Bucket was it in a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘beware of the leopard’?

@Valkyrie of course. As is standard procedure ☺️

Luckily I didn’t find any plans for bypasses along side this one

@Bucket fascinating. You’ve got to build bypasses.
@Valkyrie @Bucket That's right! Didn't you see the notice?
