These are not simply the unintended consequences of Republican laws - it’s emblematic of the Right’s vision for America: A land of cruel, merciless white patriarchal dominance.

But don’t just take it from me. Look at the types of regimes they are erecting across red states.

We are way past debating hypotheticals, or whether or not they would *really* go “that far.” Better take them seriously: Wherever Republicans are in charge, they are embracing an authoritarian vision of society and are fully committed to imposing that vision on all of society.

I keep hearing this "frog in boiling water" analogy and I'm shouting, "This is no gradual, imperceptible, increase in temperature! They are fucking erasing entire classes of people right now!"

Worthwhile to point out that Winston Smith remembers what it was like before Big Brother. He lived through the change. Less than one lifetime was all it took.

"The molar pregnancy Jaci Statton had would never become a baby. It was cancerous, though.

...staff told her and her husband that she could not get a surgical abortion until she became much sicker....

"They said, 'The best we can tell you to do is sit in the parking lot, and if anything else happens, we will be ready to help you. But we cannot touch you unless you are crashing in front of us"
