New video! I'm building a #Commodore64 synthesizer based on the amazing #EVO64 board! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9cuUj3VNzo #RetroComputing #C64
Is Mastodon’s YouTube preview broken in general or is it just on my end? :/
@janbeta not as broken as top case you tried to drill into (I'm watching right now) — no idea about Masto, I just click a link
@emil I had to destroy something with that drill! Otherwise it would not be a true Jan Beta video! ;) Spoiler: the other drilling operations went well at least.
@janbeta yeah, I see, you're wiring the knobs right now. ;) The past you, I mean.

@janbeta

Seems to be working for me.

@ne1for23 Mh, I don’t see a preview for your link. Probably my instance or my app(s). 🤔

@janbeta

Interesting that if I try to share your YouTube link, it doesn't get a preview. A video embedding setting?

@ne1for23 Not sure! Maybe YouTube quietly changed a setting (which they sometimes do), I’m going to look into it. 🤔
@ne1for23 Fixed it! It was YouTube's link shortening that didn't work correctly!

@janbeta

I think you just forced it to re-evaluate the link after it cached a preview failure.

I see your updated link in my instance but it still gets no preview, even if I refresh the page. Directly viewing the toot on your instance, however, now shows a preview when it didn't with the shortened link.

@ne1for23 Mh, odd. I am going to have to investigate a bit, I guess. Thanks for your help!
@janbeta I often find it can take a moment for my instance to fetch and process a preview, usually viewing the toot in isolation helps. https://youtu.be/d9cuUj3VNzo
@janbeta I have a link to the video I just watch, but I don't see a preview anywhere. Could you have dropped it under the bench? Usually where I find missing things. (Found my sanity several times there.)
